The San Antonio Spurs phenom has cleared concussion protocol and will play in Game 4 on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers, the NBA said.
Wembanyama, the league’s first-ever unanimous Defensive Player of the Year and one of three finalists for the Most Valuable Player award, suffered the concussion in Game 2 when he fell and hit his face on the floor.
He missed Game 3 as a result of the fall, but the Spurs still managed to take a 2-1 series lead without him.
Wembanyama put up 35 points, five rebounds and two blocks in the Spurs’ Game 1 victory over the Blazers. He averaged 25 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and a league-best 3.1 blocks per game this season.
