Jordan Romano‘s time in Los Angeles could be coming to a quick close.
The Angels designated the Canadian reliever for assignment, the team announced on Sunday.
There are now seven days for the Angels to trade, release or waive Romano.
Romano, who signed with the Angels on a one-year deal in the off-season, has a 10.13 ERA over 11 appearances and eight innings on the season.
After starting the year with six straight scoreless outings, Romano has struggled mightily in his last five, including a 0.2 inning, four-run-showing against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.
The Markham, Ont., native also has four saves in six attempts.
Los Angeles is fourth in the AL West at 12-16.
