The Los Angeles Rams have a new quarterback.
The Rams selected Alabama’s Ty Simpson 13th overall in the NFL Draft on Thursday.
Simpson enjoyed a solid junior season, posting 3,567 passing yards and 28 TDs while leading the Crimson Tide to the College Football Playoffs. The 2025 campaign marked Simpson’s first full season as the starter.
He now becomes the fourth Alabama QB selected in the first round since 2020, joining Tua Tagovailoa (2020), Mac Jones (2021) and Bryce Young (2023).
Simpson will sit and learn behind Matthew Stafford – the Rams’ starting quarterback – who is nearing the end of his career at 38 years old.
