The Toronto Blue Jays rookie outfielder is set to make his MLB debut on Sunday against the Cleveland Guardians.

Pinango will bat seventh and play left field as the Blue Jays look for their second straight series win (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 1:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. PT).

The 23-year-old Venezuelan has appeared in 22 games with the triple-A Buffalo Bisons this season, hitting three home runs with 13 RBIs and an .858 OPS. He is the team’s 10th-ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline.

Pinango, who bats left-handed, joined the team Saturday when fellow outfielder Nathan Lukes was placed on the 10-day injured list, but did not appear in the Blue Jays’ 5-3 victory.

He will roam the outfield behind starter Patrick Corbin, who has a 3.68 ERA in three starts for the Blue Jays this season.

The Guardians will counter with right-hander Slade Cecconi, who is 0-3 with a 6.20 ERA on the year.
