Vanessa Gilles scored two second-half goals to lead short-handed Canada to a 3-1 win over South Korea on Tuesday in a FIFA Series women’s soccer match.

Evelyne Viens also scored for Canada, which played most of the match with 10 players after Jade Rose was sent off in the 27th minute.

Kim Shinji scored for South Korea.

Canada, coming off a 4-0 win over Zambia last Saturday, opened the scoring when CloƩ Lacasse set up Viens in the 23rd minute.

The lead was short-lived. After Rose was shown a straight red card for a foul on Son Hwayeon just outside the area, Shinji fired the resulting free kick past Canada goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan into the corner of the net.

Canada retook the lead in the 50th minute when Gilles, who came in as a substitute in the 30th minute, headed in a Jessie Fleming free-kick.

Gillies scored her second goal on another header, guiding a Janine Sonis corner into the net in the 70th minute.

Canada plays its last game in the series Saturday against host Brazil.
