Having already set numerous statistical records in the WNBA, A’ja Wilson is moving on to setting financial records.

Wilson, the league’s four-time MVP, is signing a three-year, $5-million supermax contract to stay with the Las Vegas Aces, the team announced Wednesday.

The deal, a product of the league’s new collective bargaining agreement, is the largest negotiated contract in WNBA history and is fully guaranteed.

Wilson has been a transformative talent for the Aces and for the WNBA. Over her eight years in the league, she has earned seven all-star nods, six all-WNBA selections, five all-defensive selections, four MVPs, three Defensive Player of the Year nods, three WNBA championships and two Finals MVPs.

She ended the 2025 season on top yet again with her fourth MVP win, her third DPOY win and her third championship in four years, cementing her status as one of the best players in league history.

Along with her WNBA accolades, Wilson is a two-time Olympic gold medallist and a decorated college athlete, helping Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks to their first-ever national championship.

Since being drafted first overall by the Aces in 2018, the Columbia, S.C., native has averaged 21.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and two blocks over 267 career games.

Because of the new CBA — which was ratified in late March — the league’s salary cap rose to $7 million for the 2026 season from $1.5 million the year prior, while supermax contracts jumped from $250,000 to $1.4 million.

Wilson signed a two-year, $400,000 contract ahead of the 2024 season, timing the expiry so that she’d be able to renegotiate after the prior CBA was set to expire. She now gets to cash in on that planning.
